It is nice that you know the situation in my country, but neither the authorities nor the state or issues related to the ideological war have ever influenced my research and that of my colleagues. I do not feel in any way embarrassed in my search.
So I think that your views on the situation in Poland are wrong. As far as the global - local boundaries are concerned, I largely agree, although I have the impression that the process of globalization is progressing with difficulty.
It will be interesting to study the change in productive and reproductive work organisation of women and the impact on their paid and unpaid work due to pandemic. You may think of studying two economic classes of women who were in paid work outside home before pandemic and have school going children.

I think that the ongoing pandemic of COVID-2019 has reshaped many of our social habits affecting almost every aspect worldwide. It has a profound impact on our society leading to a paradigm shift in a social context.
The trend over the past 40 years has been to eliminate social science as a set of predictive, empirical disciplines with applications to human problems at the group and individual level for the purpose of social progress in line with international law and humanitarian goals and to transform them into "humanities" offering only "reporting" case studies, "advocacy", "representation" and philosophical literary discussion in order to reinforce existing political and religious ideologies, largely based in 19th century political and religious beliefs. Take a look at the issue that appeared in Catalyst: A Social Justice Forum, on-line, from the Spring of 2018. https://trace.tennessee.edu/catalyst/ The issue also discusses how difficult this will be to change given alignments of political power, funding, and institutional authority (university administration and faculties that have been transformed). Some very small positive signs that could be influenced by COVID-19 and other problems that have been worsened by globalization (including impacts of climate change and migrations) are the appearance of natural science disciplines taking over some of the roles that have disappeared in social sciences (environmental and other journals in biology, for example, adding human impacts to their studies) though generally without recognition of classic approaches in the social sciences. At the community level, there is also some interest in education and research addressing local problems directly. You might wish to focus on these trends and what might accelerate them and link them back to fundamental social science.
