What are the effects on antibody reactions within a patient, ie. if a patient is administered antibodies from another patient what are the possible deleterious effects in vivo?
As the antibodies are from a individual who is bound to have variation in MHC class I molecules, the recipient's immune system would recognize them as foreign molecules and mount humoral immune response.
The nature and type of reactions in the recipient depends on two aspects: 1. Quantity of antibodies injected per dose and 2. how long the antibodies are injected.
If the dose is minor and administered once, the recipient may not exert any kind of reaction/symptom. If there is a regular administration for a longer period, the recipient may develop type III hypersensitivity reactions.
