just a question:

did you perform immunofluorescence? since in my knowledge, immunoistrochemistry use HRP or AP labelled secondary antibodies and not fluorescence labelled antibodies.

if you are doing immunofluorescence in human tissue, using an anti-mouse as secondary could be good. However do ever the control using only the secondary mab to check if you have aspecific binding in your tissue.

A possible smarted approach could be perfrom fluorescent labelling of the primary mab and avoid the use of the secondary mab.

there are a lot of simple and useful commercial kits for antibody labelling
