I have article for my reaction where %5 Pd/C is used as catalyst. But our chemical supplier currently can provide %10 Pd/C. Can I use %10 Pd/C instead of %5 Pd/C? and Will there be huge activity differences?
if you mean Pd Supported C, there is difference between 5 and 10% because the surface area of two catalysts is differrentand the number of acives sites are different and if your reaction take place in the surface you can't have the same results or the same yields.
There will be large differences between the activities of %5 and %10 Pd/C . Surface area is important for the activities . 5 gm of palladium adsorbed on 100gm of charcoal is 5% where as 10 gm. of palladium on 100gm. of charcoal is 10% Pd/C catalyst. For controlled reaction 5% Pd/C will be useful.
Berkay Şahin I think that Madhukar Baburao Deshmukh is right. However, why don't you just give it a try instead of speculating? If you don't have the %5 Pd/C available, you must use the %10 Pd/C anyway.
