I am currently thinking of initiating a research project to develop a patented, ready-to-manufacture 200 MW turbine generator powered by natural gas, focusing on innovative turbine stage configurations and generator architecture. I seek insights into cost-effective prototyping methods such as scaled-down test rigs, additive manufacturing, and simulation tools as well as guidance on thermodynamic and mechanical design optimisation for large-scale power output. Additionally, I am interested in studying existing high-performance systems like those from GE, Siemens, or Mitsubishi to inform our concept. What design considerations, generator configurations, and benchmarking models would you recommend for ideation and system validation?
