Hi All,

I am estimating an optimal velocity trajectory for a defined route, and so will like to take in to considering the effect of "engine braking" during the deceleration phase.

In order to do this, I need to be able to accurately estimate this value as per my engine.

A few checks on line using this link:

https://books.google.com.ng/books?id=R6DAi96kKGAC&pg=PA226&lpg=PA226&dq=engine+brake+coefficient+f1&source=bl&ots=n_QzkAeqRk&sig=xIPXtTJfjjbkMjh5LNSiHC2IGJY&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjmiOj40orOAhXLKcAKHT2iBLgQ6AEIYDAN#v=onepage&q=engine%20brake%20coefficient%20f1&f=false

leads me to believe that it can be expressed in its simplest form using:

T = engine braking coefficient * engine speed/60;

I wish to find out if this is an accurate estimation for it? If so how do I get the "engine braking coefficient", if not then how do I estimate the engine braking torque?

Thanks.
