I have practiced and attended so many workshops related to PBL construction and conducting and analysing the sessions . rite now working on making some guide lines for constructing the case scenario for case discussions as in our curriculum there are so many case discussions.
This is a great question, Kamran Afzal. The basic rules are- the writting of cases aims at combining the case scenario, with a set of educational or pedagogical framework. The aim is to develop a template for the cases. Second, cases are written for students and must match their academic leve, and learning needsl. Third, the cases are written with integration in mind, and the cases must be authentic and focus on common cases in practice. Each case must have objectives and authors work on translating these objectives in the case. I recommend reading my papers on PBL and my book Navigating Problem-Based Learning, published by Elsevier. Consider how you will defend both reliability and validity in the construction of your PBL scenario and guidelines. If you were to simulate a real world event or phenomena, and had some literature support for that construction, I think you would be ok.
