There is a huge difference between DNA content of each chromosome. Beside, each eukaryotic organism has specific number of chromosomes. I need to know the possible cellular and molecular bases for such these differences.
I am not sure there is any specific logic to the chromosome count or DNA content per chromosome.
The number of chromosomes in Eukaryotes varies from hundreds (butterflies) to a handful. Some plants have in the thousands.
