My lab is currently conducting assays on the sensitivity to ROS of a couple of cell lines, and we are looking at the different agents used to induce ROS. I've heard that tBHP (tert-Butyl hydroperoxide) is a better choice than H2O2, but can't find a lot of data as to why (beyond one paper showing a lack of DNA damage in tBHP- vs. H2O2-treated cells). Would anyone be able to shed some light on the advantages of tBHP over H2O2?
