Hello,
So I am trying to find out if the number of plant species has an effect on the surface temperature of a green roof. To sum it up, you always here about how green roofs help keep buildings cool. You also here about how all these green roofs have lots of plant biodiversity. I want to find out, does increased biodiversity actually keep these roofs cooler?
The data categories I have to work with are:
Specific Green Roof (As in which building - categorical)
temperature of each green roof over a month (time series data, with a temp. recording each day)
biodiversity - number of plant species used in each green roof
What statistical test do you think would be best to investigate my research question? I wanted to say regression, but I don't think I have enough data... Some sort of mixed model? I am using R.
Thank you!
I attached an image of the time series data I am working with.
