A Google search for "Phylogenetics Textbook" brings up several titles of books, and some online courses etc. Can any of you add information about which books you have used and why you like them or don't like them?
I do not not have a specific text recommendation, but a general thought. If this is for a class you are teaching, do not make the textbook expensive. Pick an evolutionary biology textbook in a reasonable price range.
I like this one: http://www.cambridge.org/us/academic/subjects/life-sciences/genomics-bioinformatics-and-systems-biology/essential-bioinformatics
It has a lot of informations and chapters on phylogeny. You have all you need in that textbook to become great student in bioinformatic (sequence evolution, phylogeny ...)
