I am looking for a transient finite element model that handles heat and mass (stable isotope) transport and nonisothermal fluid properties (thermal buoyancy driven flow). Preferably with text input and output files so I can link with UCODE. FEFlow, COMSOL, or TOUGH2 would work. I would love to learn TOUGH2, especially iTOUGH2, but I don't have any money or financial support and I have no government or academic affiliation at this time.
The code I used for my MS thesis in 2002 was written by Steven J Cook for his PhD dissertation in 1992. I recently tried to recompile the code but I couldn't find a compiler that works. Apparently there have been some significant changes to the C language (written in C90?) and getting the code compiled is beyond my abilities.
I would be using the numerical model (or compiler) to improve and publish my MS work (12 years later!).
Any help with compiling suggestions or free numerical modeling programs would be very much appreciated!
