For each system are the conditions different. You have to try out. There are tools to find with less analysis like Placket Burmann design.

I am having a cc fraction of ethanolic extract of a plant. I want to analyse what type of compounds presents in it. but I did not know about it, the technical assistant said bring some details about the molecular weight of the compound, melting temperature etc...could you help me how to set a analytical profile in LC-MS..Please help me by replying .
