In addition to what I have already answered on the survey, I find language teachers more drawn to digital technologies because it provides more room to engage learners to use the target language in the classroom. The negative part of it that I have seen amongst my colleagues is taking all the class time using a digital space and enjoying the fun it brings to the classroom and not allowing learners to use more of their thinking skills.
Whether we like it or not, children as early as one have been exposed to some sort of technology, for instance television, or tablets. The difference is how we, as teachers decide to use this technology. I incorporate technology into my lessons, I do not allow the use of technology to overtake the entire lesson. It’s all about creating a balance in the classroom. I have witnessed some students learn the material quicker if it’s presented through technology.
