How does the adsorption of surfactants on electrodes walls effect the pH measurements? What are suitable ways to adjust the pH of the surfactant solutions.
fI your surfactant system is aqueous you can pre-adjust the pH in neat water solution as a buffer and use this buffer for surfactant solution preparation. Surfactants may damage (perhaps wet and clog) the diaphragm used in combination glass electrodes.
Thank you Farooq for your suggestion, as you told surfactant adsorption might damage the diaphragm that is used in combination glass electrodes. I have to adjust the pH of surfactants that are having amines and esters as head groups. So using water solution as a buffer is not working in these cases. That is why I am looking for other ways for doing so.
