I have synthesized zinc sulfide (ZnS) with scale around 80 nm. The solution is white,but, interestingly, exhibits blue especially in the irradiation. When the solution gets dried, the remaining is totally blue. I wonder whether it could be applied to photoluminescence. What application can zinc sulfide(ZnS) with blue emission be applied to?
How about the PLQY of the ZnS under exciataion at near UV (365-420 nm) ?
Thank you for Dr. Pengpeng Dai's kind help. Actually, my initial thought of application is not photo-luminescence. I don't know any about PLQY and I don't have access to characterize the PLQY. Would you be kind enough to give me other criterion to judge whether it is appropriate to apply to photoluminescence.
I think it can work as luminescencent quantum dot. You should check wthether the excitation spectrum matches with the UV-LED (365nm?)?
It can find application in cell imaging. But, again for that purpose you have to characterize the optical properties like PL, QY, Decay time. Another important factor can be cytotoxicity.
