In order to check a plant extract or a microbial product , what all preliminary tests needed to confirm the compound has some anti cancer activity ? What is the order of anti cancer potential detection ?
Checking cytotoxic effects on cancer cell lines is a usual preliminary test for anti-cancer activity. The MTT assay can be used for that.
You can also have a look on the following discussion on anti-proliferative tests:
https://www.researchgate.net/post/Is_an_MTT_assay_sufficient_to_check_antiproliferative_activity_of_some_clinically_useful_drugs/1
Thanks Yahaira
I had done the MTT and what to do further is the thing I am looking for .
I think The papers you have suggested may help
Let me look into it.
Will keep in touch if I have some doubt after that
Thank you
Thanks Christine :)
Interesting anti-cancer effects also relate to other properties, such as anti-migratory and anti-angiogenic effects.
The literature describes high-throughput assays for testing these aspects for which 3D assays are particularly recommended.
Eppendorf is the one I am using..but it is costly. Can you suggest a same quality one with same precision mainly for mol bio work. The pipette need to be available in India
