in some elisa kit the first step is start by wahing the plate. why?
possibly the plate has been coated with a capture antibody or -protein and you need to remove the stabilizing agents before you may apply your samples.

There should be some hints in the instruction sheet, actually. E.g. what has been coated on the plate or if you do the coating yourself etc.

According to the IFU, the plate has been coated with the capture antibody. This protein needs some protection. In addition, adequate blocking needs to be ensured, this will be done with PBST, while removing the protective coating.
