A lot of science has been applied to study how our universe developed and when it began. Not much science is available to say why the universe started at one time and not another, or why the energy is one amount and not another.
The possibility of false vacuum has been researched and published with popular conclusions that collapse of a false vacuum destroys everything it contains. In my completed RG project last year the results are suggesting that a fast moving vehicle and its contents are not destroyed in collapse of a false vacuum.
In the present question researchers are invited to give opinions about what happens after the destruction in collapse of a false vacuum.
Was Our Universe Created By Collapse Of A False Vacuum?
Might be, might not be. Nobody knows and hard to test. A string theorist would probably say, there was a collision of cosmic strings, which provided energy for a universe. A quantum physicist may say, if you just wait 10^100s a universe will automatically be born from vacuum energy. Lee Smolin would say, every black hole gives birth to a new universe, aka cosmic evolution. Others would say a "before" makes no sense, because time didn't exist. Which - by the way - is from a semantically point of view even more confusing. Who knows.
However, from a human point of view, it doesn't feel right, not to know a "before". Questions like these are extremely interesting and fascinating from a philosophical point of view, they touch the very meanings of existence. However, no theory provides "testable" results - so far. But I like these ideas. Any outreach to these questions helps to gain more insight in the way we see the world and how our theories work. I like these questions. Good luck with your research.
My completed project of high speed in deep space transport is suggesting that the test can eventually be done, but at high cost and great danger, which justifies as much theoretical work as possible before the test.
Results are suggesting that local vacuum space including the ZPE is stressed and strained by the fast moving vehicle and boosted from ground state of spin angular momentum h to higher states of spin angular momentum 2*h, 3*h, 4*h, and 5*h beginning at the energy level where quantum mechanics can no longer be ignored, and ending when Doppler shifting makes the forward looking temperature unstainable for the vehicle.
Boosting of spin angular momentum in local space is the engineering significance for hierarchy of Plancks which occurs in TGD, Scale Relativity, and Squeezed Quantum States.
