Many year ago I was presented a theorem of mathematics that contained a claim and proof that enough dimensions make every curved function straight and flat.
It sounded OK in principle but the proof seemed to be weak. Over the years it reappeared a few times, but never as a big accomplishment in mathematics.

It seems that the function would need to be rewritten for more dimensions, but an underlying physical system might appear curved in a smaller frame and flat in a larger one.
The topic comes up occasionally in reference to large scale cosmology space and time, also related topics stress and strain.
