I hope this message finds you well. I am currently exploring different tools for visualizing frequency collocations extracted from the AntConc program using network graphs. While I have tried VOSviewer and KH Coder, I've encountered challenges as they don't seem to generate graphs based on simple frequency.
I would greatly appreciate any recommendations or insights from the community on alternative tools or methods that effectively visualize frequency-based collocations through network graphs. Your expertise and suggestions will be invaluable in enhancing my research visualization.

Hello, I would try #LancsBox: http://corpora.lancs.ac.uk/lancsbox/. It is an excellent tool that creates collocation networks as well. If you wish to make your own collocation networks from scratch, you can try Gephi (https://gephi.org/users/download/), but it requires more time and some learning.
Michal Místecký Hi there, thank you for your response. I've experimented with #LancsBox, but it produces frequent collocations without clear visual differentiation in terms of distance from the node word in the network graph. Despite a significant difference in frequency among collocates, the tool doesn't provide a distinct visual representation. This is quite frustrating as it hinders my ability to identify which collocates are more frequent and more significant for the node word.

Maybe you know about some alternatives to LancsBox and Gephi?
Hello, you can always make use of graphic programmes like Canva (https://www.canva.com/), but construing collocation networks will take you much more time than with LancsBox. Concerning the distance from the node word or the frequencies of the collocates, I think LancsBox can distinguish both; see the manual: http://corpora.lancs.ac.uk/lancsbox/docs/pdf/LancsBox_4.0_manual.pdf. It also depends on what association measure you use.
Please, Michal, take a look at the distance from the node word ("trace") and the frequencies of the collocates in LancsBox 6.0. Words "network" and "science" are not visually distanced enough to demonstrate their distance as the most frequent and most infrequent collocates (twofold difference in the number of occurrences). I am using simple frequency measure.
Thank you very much, Illia, for sending me the figure. I guess the frequency of the collocate is given via the saturation of the colour of the spot, whereas the distance from the node indicates the real distance of the collocate from the node in a text (your span is -5/+5).
