I want to analyse a blade computationally and which solver can be used ?
Is there any specific solver or depending on application it is selected?

In OpenFoam you can use an AMI (arbitrary mesh interface) so set into rotation the blade and then a standard transient solver.
I think in CFX some similar option should be available.

hi Karthik, for engineering purpose, S-A is widely used, for research purpose, the LES is now a routine work, so it is problem dependent.

hi Karthik, unlike internal flows, for outer flow of aero dynamics, the k-w is more superior than the k-e for its accurate boundary resolution and adaptation for negative pressure gradient as Wilcox claimed. but comparatively, S-A is robust and more computational efficient for engineering flows.
So S-A is the better viscous solver for Wind turbine blade simulation.Is that right?
hi Karthik, i think from engineering aspect, for instance, for the rapid development of these equipment, it is a suitable choice, but i don't konw what is your exact purpose of doing this kind simulations?
I am doing my PhD in FLow COntrol in Wind turbine Blades..As a preliminary point,I have to design the blade and simulate with op conditions
hi, karthik, at the preliminary design stage, i think S-A is suitable, it will save you much time when you run design-simulation-design cycles
