Hello, I have a question regarding diatom cleaning using the hot hydrogen peroxide method.

I have preserved my diatoms in ethanol (40-60% by volume), and plan to clean the diatoms using hot hydrogen peroxide (30% H2O2) via a water bath. I have seen a wide variety of predictions about the reaction between ethanol and hydrogen peroxide -- Some say it can risk explosion, while others deny that completely. Moreover, there doesn't appear to substantial information online providing a discrete answer.

I am curious if anybody has used the hydrogen peroxide method on ethanol-preserved diatoms, and if this will risk an explosion or any other violent reactions that I should be aware of before carrying out this procedure.
