Dear Forum,

My master thesis investigates the disposition effect—where traders sell winning shares too early and hold onto losing shares too long—on social trading platforms (STPs) like eToro, Ayondo, and Wikifolio. These platforms allow traders to share their activities publicly, gaining followers and popularity, which might influence their trading behavior.

The goal is to analyze if popular traders (measured by likes, comments, followers) show a stronger or weaker disposition effect compared to less popular traders.

Challenges Faced

I have tried finding data manually on STP websites and using APIs for web scraping but haven't succeeded.

Request for Assistance

I am looking for:

  • Sources where this data might be available.
  • Contacts or networks with access to this data.
  • Tips for effectively scraping or requesting data from these platforms.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
