I want to ask whether the membrane protein from different bacterial/Cyanobacteria strains are compatible with each other?

For example, can I express all gram positive bacteria membrane protein with a gram negative strain? Even though they have different membrane composition?

If yes, why? or does it depend on whether it is transmembrane, inner membrane or outer membrane only?

And also for cyanobacteria thylakoid membrane protein, can we express it normally with a bacterial strain? Or will it be expressed in the cytoplasm as a non-functioning inclusion body?

Is it possible to modify the membrane embedding sequence or protein transport sequence in order to let the protein fold in bacterial strains?
