Vacuum membrane distillation (VMD) vs Direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) lab-scale cell?

Dear researchers,

Considering the dimensions of the Plexiglass DCMD cell, I want to fabricate a VMD cell only by removing the cold water inlet. Then we have one inlet (hot water) and two outlets: 1) hot water, and 2) vapor.

Is it true based on your view?

Is the dimension of the cold water outlet in DCMD similar to the vapor outlet in VMD or do I have to reduce its size to improve the sealing of the VMD cell?

What is your idea?
