In particular, in terms of classroom management, use of facilities, equipment, teacher loading, progress, etc.? I think it depends on the level of projectification of your institution, if such tool would make sense. If you work largely project-based, it could make sense or if you use it only for the project-based part. Lately I've been working with two tools, 1) Teamwork Projects in an international project and 2) Projektron BCS in a simulation for teaching project management.
The first would not allow classroom management or management of equipment, but it helps in structuring the project, measuring progress and mainly for communication and document sharing in a virtual team. The second is a very comprehensive tool, that is used by some companies only for managing time sheets, and by others to manage the complete firm, as it has many options and can follow various PM methodologies.
I think it really depends on the analysis what you want to achieve and how project oriented is your work in the institution.

I understand that project management software is primarily intended for project management :) The essence of my question is precisely that, in my opinion, such software can be perfectly applicable to the logic of managing an educational institution, both small and large university. For example, in this logic of structuring: The portfolio of projects includes "sub-portfolios" associated with the relevant structural units (institutes, colleges, faculties) that are part of the structure of the university. Sub-portfolios include “project programs” associated with specific specialties, which are trained by the university. Project programs contain “projects” - which in this logic corresponds to a set of educational activities corresponding to a specific semester for a particular group, in which case the “subproject” will be the curriculum of each individual discipline studied in the semester. Using the functionality of project management software, all of this can be managed in time, and in the best way (as efficiently as possible) using all the resources of the university - both material (audiences, laboratories, equipment), and human (teachers). At the same time, it is possible to monitor the progress of each student within the framework of passing specific disciplines (integrating the method of control points into the plans of such "projects"). An important advantage of this approach, from my point of view, is the ability to integrate with other products, such as Skype, Outlook, Teams, etc., including the ability to quickly manage changes in such "projects" (for example, in the schedule) with regard to changes accessibility of the use of university resources and promptly informing all interested parties. If such an idea occurred to me (and a number of my colleagues), perhaps this is already someone with a similar approach to managing the university "as a whole" in this or that functionality (but applicable to the whole university, or to a specific structural unit, but also " wholly "). Of course, you can use not only Microsoft solutions (which, from my professional point of view, you can use "right out of the box"), but also others, including free software. This question is connected with a study on the applicability of using the project approach in university management, which I and my colleagues are currently conducting. A possible model of such a "portfolio" has been described in several publications, but, unfortunately, we did it not in English ...
