Citicoline, recognized as a nutraceutical with established neuroprotective properties, is frequently explored in the context of neurological disorders such as Traumatic Brain Injury. A recent publication of 2020 from China asserts citicoline is ‘routinely used to treat the sequelae of the nervous system caused by craniocerebral injuries or cerebrovascular accidents’ and this is “supported” by referencing two experimental studies, instead of proper guidelines.
My aim is to understand whether up to 2020, citicoline was officially approved and included in treatment guidelines for acute (spontaneous) cerebral hemorrhage in China. If anyone could provide references I would really appreciate it.
