Is it better to use U-bottomed (round-bottomed) or V-bottomed 96-well plates for FACS staining? BD for example suggests U-bottomed in their protocols, but I was told by many researchers that U-bottomed plates should instead be used for culturing cells and V-bottomed for staining, because the narrow bottom of V-bottomed plate will allow better binding of antibodies to the antigens, as cells and antibodies are more 'snug'.
