Trying different promoters for a gene?

What if we develop a transgenic plant and use a promoter of a different gene than using its own? what kind of results can be observed?

It entirely depends on the promoter type whether its a constitutive, inducible or a tissue-specific promoter. The gene expression is obvious but the conditions, inheritance pattern and integration may vary. i.e. promoter type-based conditions, deleterious or inheritable, stable or transient.
