Not only are AA more likely to be on dialysis, they are more likely to stay on dialysis. Certainly the reasons are multiple and important. Most important may be the lack of living donors for all ESRD patients. That stems for the automatic repugnance of meaningful "valuable consideration." This repugnance makes no sense in a culture willing to pay for military service and surrogate pregnancy. While it is unethical for individuals to buy organs, the correct solution IMO is for the government to buy at fixed rate and distribute through the organ procurement agencies. This would extend lives, make better lives and save money. I know that a full throated examination of this issue as part of your research is very controversial. But it is time and it would have a substantial impact on the discrepancy. Good luck and thanks for reading. Bob
