Has anyone tried transfecting MEFs with PEI? What kind of percentages do you get with PEI on MEFs and how toxic is it on these cells? If PEI is not suitable, which transfection reagent has worked best for you?

For primary fibroblast PEI will most likely not work.We used Lipofectamine® LTX & Plus Reagent from Invitrogen (most likely other lipofection reagens will work as good), that works for our human fibroblasts but the percentage of transfected cells is low. The best is the amaxa system from Lonza but for that you need the equipment.
