Fresh plant tissue is recommended for DNA extraction while plant tissue frozen at -20 degree centigrade can produce poorer DNA output.

I am interested to know how big the difference is when DNA is extracted from a fresh plant tissue compared to a tissue frozen at -20 degree centigrade (frozen for several days or weeks)?

I have been working with strawberry crown tissues and I would say around 30% loss of DNA when tissue is frozen. If anyone had similar experience? Please share

PS: I am aware of the recommended plant storage method like liquid nitrogen storage and cryolyophilisation.
