I am currently seeking information on estimating Resistivity and Seebeck coefficient for high entropy alloys. While I have come across equations for binary alloy systems, but not the sources that provide such relations specifically for high alloy systems. So any suggestions would be appreciated!
High entropy alloys (HEAs) are a relatively new class of materials that are characterised by having five or more principal elements in near-equal proportions. These alloys have unique mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties, making them of particular interest for various applications.
To my knowledge, no simple universal equation or model can predict the thermoelectric properties (like electrical resistivity and Seebeck coefficient) of HEAs with high accuracy. This is largely due to the complexity of these alloys. In a high entropy alloy, you could have hundreds or even thousands of potential binary, ternary, quaternary (and so on) interactions between the constituent elements. This immense complexity makes modelling these alloys a challenging task.
That said, efforts are being made to understand better and predict these materials' properties. Machine learning and computational methods, like density functional theory (DFT), are being employed to help with this task. DFT, for example, has been used to predict the properties of HEAs with some success, but this is computationally expensive and can't currently be done for all potential HEAs.
Experimental measurement is still the most reliable way to determine these properties for a given HEA. These measurements allow empirical relations to be established and used as a reference for similar alloys.
You may need to explore recent scientific literature or consult with experts in the field to get the most current and precise information. Given this field's rapid advancement, newer techniques or models may have been developed.
