Lately, I have been working on a theoretical paper in the field of Criminal Psychology and am almost done with the structuring and wanted to publish the paper as preprint first rather than submitting to a journal. Given the necessity of the topic which I am working on, I still prefer a wider reach and additionally, the conceptual model (based on theoretical underpinnings) is also taking time to be in shape. So my intentions were to at least publish the preprint and give some time to the constructive feedbacks from the researcher across globe. Though it's duly noted that we can't take in all the comments or feedbacks as everyone tends to have a different perspective on every aspect of research.

What are your viewpoints on opting for preprint and how beneficial or damaging it could as per the quality of the paper?
