Interesting topic, Gaoyan. It is a well known phenomenon that denervated skeltal muscle atrophies over time. Other factors such as impaired blood flow and lymphatic flow in denervated skeletal muscle could affect susceptibility to infection and ability to fight infection. A practical example of this is diabetic nerve damage in the lower extremities, leading to chronic infections, edema, and tissue necrosis. Yes, I agree with the opinion of Dr. Johnson.In any case the topic is worth further investigation. In my opinion, especially the formation of fibrosis in denervated muscles reduces blood flow. Does this fact enhances the possibility of virus infection ? I think this question can be answered controversially and needs investigation.
