Does EMG show muscle spasms?

Electromyography waveforms reflect the electrical activity of a muscle. But does it reveal muscle spasms (transient) or cramps (prolonged spasm)? If so, what does it look like?

EMG test is typically used to evaluate conditions and disorders that include motor problems such as involuntary muscle twitching. the clinician may order blood tests to check the individual levels of potassium, calcium, and magnesium. a creative phosphokinase blood test can be used to detect muscle breakdown.
