I`m conducting a parametric study using FE abaqus on RC beam shear strengthened with externally side-bonded CFRP. The optimum length which i get is 0.36L, where L is the beam length. Is this result logic ??
To answer, yes it's possible. However, your statement is a bit vague. For example, is your beam simply supported or is it a fixed end beam? Is it a continuous beam?
I'm sure you are aware of the influence of shear span to effective depth ratio (a/d) to shear failure of the beam. a/d from 2.5 to 6 is either compression-shear failure or a tension- shear failure (Sinha, 2002)
