The number of exosomes increased in the culture media at stationary growth phase of cells?

I cultured three cancer cells to see the number of exosomes they release at different time intervals. The number of exosomes were increasing with the increase number of cells but when the cells reached stationary phase the number of exosomes instead of slowing down, kept increasing. Can someone give any suggestion why this is happening?

May be these are apoptotic bodies and not exosomes .You can check the cell condition under electron microscope
