I am going to fabrication QCM sensor in our clean room, integrated to the microfluidic platform. and also, I am going to fabricate the electrode of QCM only 500 um.
And, I am not sure about that the QCM sensor will properly operation with this dimension of the electrode. Because it is too small in comparison with the commercial QCM sensor.
So, does anyone having experience about QCM sensor? Give me the consultants.

500 um diameter sounds very interesting. I do not have experience of working on such a small QCM electrode but I have a suggestion.
In my experience, the QCMs manufactured for vacuum application do not work well in liquid. One of the reason is that the electrodes on both sides of these QCM are of same size which cause fringing effect at the electrode edge. This is why the sensing electrode for liquid QCM is always preferred larger compared to the other electrode. It would be worthwhile to consider this fact while fabricating your micro-sized QCM electrodes and make the sensing electrode slightly larger than the other.

I think there is a relationship between the thickness of quartz wafer and the diameter of the electrode. But I did not find this.
