Hello everyone,

I have been reading about the addition of cap 5' in the maturation process of mRNA in eukaryotic cells and from what I have managed to understand, the addition of cap 5' is added only with the presence of RNA polymerase II, This has a domain that is able to recruit the necessary proteins for the formation of the cap 5' and with this is enough for that process to occur.

Now, I want to get out of doubt, this process does not need a signal sequence in the mRNA to add the cap 5' ?, as is the case of the addition of the poly A tail where the signal sequence is needed "AAUAAA" in the mRNA for polyadenylation to occur.

Thank you very much in advance.
