I've created a TA chart for Apple Inc [AAPL] here, you can play around with it by clicking on 'indicators' on the left panel. You can see whenever AAPL hits the lower Bollinger band it bounces back. In fact the bands are a 90 degree rotation of the standard Gaussian distribution of returns in the [-99.99%, infinity] range. MACD and RSI are two others I customized for the chart [as well as Volume+, where down days are in red]. Be careful though, research shows stock returns are non-stationary with a slight positive drift.
The technical reports no mention of the strategies used by analysts. But the major areas of analysis are Fundamental Analysis, Technical Analysis and Analysis of Mathematical/ Econometric Models.
If the question is how to calculate the return of the recommendation:
I'm using the calculation of return on realized based on the recommendation farooq (2013). The annual cumulative return of the recommendation CRR is calculated by the return from the recommendation for 12 months from the difference between the last price LP_ {12} it-traded 12 months before and the price LP_ {it} negotiated later.
