Hi all,
I use Tamoxifen inducible cre (cre/ERT2) system to knockout a gene at embryonic day (E12.5) by injecting 1.2mg tamoxifen in 100ul corn oil. (injection vol = 100ul)
First time, the females were fresh and after injection at E12.5, they produced avg of 7 litters per female.
For Second time when I used these same females, they got pregnant, so I injected tamoxifen at same time and same concentration but they are not able to deliver or experiencing abortion !!
(Cage 1: Found only 1 pup dead body and in cage 2: no sign of dead body but the female stomach seems normal; which was quite big 2 days back)
Does tamoxifen injection causes late stage abortions? or affect second pregnancy?
The first time all females after injection produced pups but second time same females showing signs of cannibalism or abortion!!
I recently started working on mice and don't have much experience. Pls share your thoughts and suggestions. I would be very grateful for your responses :)
