Solvent is volatile - in under pressure conditions it will evaporate in some part to your pump.

Before you turn off the pump - you should first pressurize the system - i.e. open a dedicated valve and allow to get an atmospheric pressure in your system - after that you can turn off the pump.

Moreover, that has been done and it didn't prevent the suction of the solvent into the pump and eventually to the oil. Afterward, the pump oil do have the odour of the solvent being recovered. Nonetheless, any other suggestion will be highly appreciated.

so you need to install a filter before the pump - It could be a column with activated carbon or a crio-condenser.

Secondly - if you don't need a very high vacuum you can replace the oil pump by a simple water pump.

Thanks. Moreover, what type of condenser can I use and i will be very glad if you can send the picture here or to [email protected].

More so, I even added bushner flask immerse in cold water chilled with ice block, just before the pump to further condense the organic vapour. However, the accumulated odour at the pump and the oil just decreased.

Hope, water pump with an outlet to the surrounding might be the best professional advice as suggested.

Thanks. However, I guess, the water pump with an outlet to the surrounding medium will be better in application to the foregoing adventure rather than the non return valve as suggested.

Perhaps, the organic vapour under suction, will be released to the surrounding by the water pump, while the one way valve will only and still by pass the organic vapour into the pump.

Nevertheless, any suggestion is highly welcome.

I thought, if there are no water for water pump to suck rather organic vapour, might eventually burn the water pump.

Just curious before buying .
