For my master's thesis I have conducted a within-subjects design vignette study. In this study I created three variables: a variable in which the respondents had to measure their fear of crime for plants, a variable in which the respondents had to measure their fear of crime for humans, and a variable in which the respondents had to measure their fear of crime for animals. The respondents had to complete all the three questions and the three questions had the same corresponding vignette. I want to compare the means between these three variables. The people had to describe their fear of crime on a scale ranging from 1 to 10. Please help me which SPSS test I can use.

Given that the ratings are most likely of ordinal strength and that you wish to compare three dependent (within-subject) ratings, I'd suggest you try the Friedman two-way anova by ranks. In SPSS, this would appear under the nonparametric tests option (related samples...).
Be sure that each of the three ratings appears as a separate column/variable in your data set.

The scale with a rating from 1 to 10 is a Likert scale for each of the three variables and a within-subjects design.
For each of the variables do a one-sample t-test under
analyze....Compare means..
If there are only two points of assessment.
If the sample size is 5 then a nonparametric Wilcoxon test can be done.
David Morse Thank you for the fast answer! However, I thought that the Friedman two-way anova measured repeated measurements over time of one person and that is not the case in my study. Secondly, I thought that my variables are of scale strength, they range from 1 to 10 in numbers and they are ranked from 1 (not scared) to 10 (very scared). What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!
