Hello,
I'm working on a group project about BCG vaccine production in remote areas and we stumbled upon the question why a lyophilised vaccine would require further cooling (during transportation for example). Several publications mention that this improves viability, however as far as I understand as long as you keep moisture away from the freeze dried sample it can be kept at room temperature. Is it for a BCG vaccine the case that it cannot be completely freeze dried?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
