Hello. I have injected breast cancer cells with matrigel in 4th inguinal mammary fat pad of nsg mice. i was not expecting the cells to metastasize before 2 weeks but when I imaged them on day three 2 of the 5 injected mice have metastasis in the auxiliary lymph node. Is it possible for the cells to go to lymph node other than spontaneous metastasis? what type of experimental error might lead to this?

Human breast cancer cells grow better in NSG mice than in nude mice.
The rapid formation of metastases in the lymph nodes is most likely a property of NSG mice than a methodological error.
How many cells have you injected? You might consider decreasing the number of cells injected compared to the immunocompetent model.
