Hello :). I have to put my plasmids (dh5alpha) in LB medium containing spectinomycin. Whar i´m wondering is which is the right antibiotic´s concentration due to the fact that my plasmid is a low copy number one?
I checked some articles and they have used an spectinomycin concentration of 100 ug/ml but i don´t know if it is too much for a low copy number plasmid as mine.

Hello, Tatiana. Please go thru the link it might help. Since, addgene provide all plasmids for research purpose so it has listed the table on basis of low and high copy number plasmid.

Normally there won't be much difference in the antibiotic concentration used when you have low or high copy plasmids. You just want to be above the minimum so you get clean results. I've used spectinomycin from 25-100 ug/ml so anywhere in that range should be fine. it will to some degree be strain dependent.
