Can you add the mediating compound to the carbon mix prior to printing?

I ask because our group have found that for carbon bucky paper electrodes, we have far better performance when we add the mediating compound into the MWCNT dispersion prior to forming the bucky paper via vacuum filtration than we do when we simply dropcast the mediating compound.

Another thing you can try is to UV Ozone/oxygen plasma treat the carbon electrode prior to dropcasting to increase the hydrophilicity and help improve immobilisation of the mediating compound.

We have also found the solvent important for optilising results, for example, efficacy of protoporphyrin IX immobilisation is better for us in 10% acetonitrile than 100% acetonitrile.

Hi, which electrochemical technique are you using? Besides trying different materials, you may consider techniques like SWV and amperometry, which are more sensitive than CV.

Additionally, you may consider enrichment of the analyte, as well as amplification system.

Apart from all that has been saitd, it seems very important too, to eliminate the solvent in order to decrease capacitive current. You can try to cure them more time.
