Hey all,

I have used a standard Ag/AgCl electrode for a while now but I've just moved institutions and a lab member is stating the electrolyte is not required for aqueous voltammetric analysis, and suggests just using the Ag/AgCl wire.

Is there logic in this? I was under the impression the electrolyte facilitated electron transfer at the wire surface.

Any information is appreciated.
